BLACKING

The principal ingredients of common blacking are bone black, oil, molasses and a little sulphuric acid. There is also a higher grade of blacking in which was is used instead of molasses. This produces a softer and more durable polish and excludes moisture better than the ordinary article. Blacking should be kept in a dry, cool place.
