DELICATESSEN
The delicatessen stores now so numerous in all our large cities started with one place in Grand Street, New York, opened about 1868. Their stocks embrace a wide variety of food items--ready-cooked meats, cheeses, fine canned goods--such as sardines, mushrooms, caviar, etc.--packet teas, olive oil, etc.--in short, all the most profitable articles of the grocer's stock.
