GROUPER

a Southern fish found in three chief varieties--Black, Red and White. In weight it ranges from five to ten pounds, and even as high as twenty pounds, and in shape is a cross between a carp and a bass. The flesh is firm but coarse, and of only second quality. It is in season from November to March.
