GUINEA PIG

a small animal native to South America, best known in this country and Europe as a domesticated cage pet. The wild animal is generally orange and black on the upper parts, shading to yellowish underneath. Domesticated specimens are usually orange, black and white in marking. Those who have experimented with it as a table delicacy pronounce it "good eating," the flavor resembling' possum.
