are preparations designed to give a glossy finish to starched goods. They are variously composed, frequently containing a number of ingredients. Starch Gloss usually consists of common laundry starch with the addition of a certain quantity of borax and stearin or paraffin wax. Starch Polish is generally based chiefly on paraffin wax or lard.
