To Serve Fruit (French when serving fruit)

The French, when serving fruit, exhibit much greater taste than the Americans. The arrangements are not only better, but also the method of serving and the decorations. For instance, strawberries are served whole, without being stemmed, and a small dish of powdered sugar is passed with them, or sometimes they are dipped in fondant, at others, in white of egg and powdered sugar.

Peaches are served in a pretty basket, decorated with fall flowers, and here and there bunches of their own leaves.
