1 tablespoon of coffee to each cup Grind the coffee finely, and prepare as in filtered coffee, using only one-half quantity of water. When filtered twice, pour off the coffee and add an equal amount of freshly scalded milk.

For the Modern Kitchen

A concentrated drip coffee cut half-and-half with hot milk. The whole thing hinges on brewing at double strength, since the milk that follows will dilute it by half.
