Spiced Cranberries

1 quart cranberries 1 cup boiling water 2 cups sugar 1/2 cup cold water 2 sticks cinnamon 24 whole cloves 6 allspice berries speck of salt Cook cranberries in boiling water. Put through strainer and add remaining ingredients, except salt. Bring to boil. Let simmer 15 minutes. Add salt, and turn into wet mold.

For the Modern Kitchen

A jellied, spiced cranberry sauce built on the berries' own pectin. The molding depends on getting the pulp through a strainer and then boiling the sugar syrup long enough to set.
