Caveman Mull

The first fashion of mulling was perhaps set in the Iron Age when a doughty caveman celebrated something by heating his spear point and thrusting it sputtering into a metal tankard full of wine. This was supplanted by the stove poker, made red hot, and that's still the very best way we know to make a mouth-watering mull.
