Pot Likker Dodgers

2 CUPS CORN MEAL 1/2 TEASPOON SALT COLD WATER I TABLESPOON MELTED FAT Mix dry ingredients, stir in fat, and add just enough water to hold all together. Let stand 15 minutes. Mold between the hands into cylindrical biscuits 1 inch thick and 21/2 inches long. Have ready a pot of salt pork and turnip greens, or for that matter, a kettle of new peas or string beans. Lay dodgers on surface so they rest on the vegetables, cover very tightly and cook 15-20 minutes, boiling gently but steadily. Lift out dodgers before taking up vegetables. Eat everything with some of the pot likker poured over.
