Three eggs, a small teacup of sugar, one cup of flour, whites and yolks of the eggs beaten together; flavour, and bake in two layers, in a quick oven.
The ladies of 1870s Chicago pooled their recipes and signed every one — corned beef from Mrs. Beaty, lemon pie from Mrs. Saulter.
