Molasses Cake

One cup of butter, one cup of brown sugar, one cup of molasses, one cup of sweet milk, three cups of flour, four eggs, one and a-half teaspoons of cream tartar, one teaspoon of soda, two pounds of raisins chopped fine, nutmeg; bake in a slow oven.
