For the Cure of Scratches in Horses

First wash all dirt from the parts with castile soap and warm water. Then take one-half cupful of The Great Arm & Hammer Soda (or Saleratus) to a quart of lukewarm water. Wash the affected part twice a day. Should the scratches not yield readily to this treatment on the third day, increase the quantity of Soda. The above solution also makes an excellent wash for horses' tails and manes.
