The names of the principal dyeing materials are alum, argol, or tartar, green copperas, verdigris, blue vitriol, roohe alum, American or quercitron, and oak bark, fenugreek, log wood, old and young fustic, Brazil wood, braziletto, camwood, barwood, and other red woods, peach wood, sumach, gall; weld, madder of 3 or 4 sorts, safflower, savory, green wood, annatto, tumeric, archil, cudbear, cochineal, lac cake, lac dye, and indigo. The whole may be purchased of druggists and colourmen.
