Cream Jelly Cake

Whites of 2 eggs, I cupful of white sugar, I cupful of sweet milk, a piece of butter the size of an egg, 2 cupfuls of flour, 1/2 teaspoonful of soda and I teaspoonful of cream of tartar.

The cream for the jelly cake is made with the yolks of 2 eggs, ½ cupful of brown sugar, I cupful of sweet milk, 2 teaspoonfuls of cornstarch, flavor with lemon, cook in a saucepan and spread between the layers.
