Another (Take of rhubarb powdered)
Take of rhubarb, powdered, guaiac gum, nitrate of potass, flowers of sulphur, each, 1 ounce; treacle, 1 pound. Mix well together.
From one to two teaspoonsful (according to its aperient effects) to be taken every night, with a little warm gin and water.
The Chelsea Pensioner's remedy for Gout and Rheumatism.
Gum guaiacum, 2 drachms; rhubarb, pulverized, drachm; flowers of sulphur, & ounce; cream of tartar, 2 drachms; nutmeg, or ginger powder, drachm. Made an electuary with treacle, and two teaspoonsful taken night and morning.
