Hard Spring Wheat

This wheat is planted in the spring.

It is generally grown in the northwestern part of the country where the winters are so severe that wheat cannot well endure the cold. This product when milled is usually used for bread making, although a durum wheat is grown, a product of this vicinity, which is not well adapted for bread making and is used in the manufacture of macaroni.
