To color Woolen Black
For twenty-five pounds of goods, boil goods in a solution of five-eighths pounds each bichromate of potash and blue vitriol, and one-half pound argol, one hour; take out, refill kettle with clean water, and add three pounds dissolved extract of logwood; put in goods and simmer one hour and a half; take out, rinse, scour with soap, and dry. This makes a blue-black. To make a jet black, add three pounds fustic with the logwood.
