Put four ounces of Cheddar cheese into a small stewpan with a tea-spoonful of mustard, two table-spoonfuls of ale, and half a tea-spoonful of pepper. Stir till the mixture is dissolved, place on hot buttered toast, and serve very hot. Probable cost, 6d.
