Raisin Sauce

Mix together 1 cupful molasses, 1 cupful of hot water, the juice of 1 lemon, 1 1/2 cupfuls fine seeded chopped raisins. Cook for ten minutes. Add 1 tablespoonful diluted corn starch and 1 of butter. Cook until creamy.

For the Modern Kitchen

A quick stovetop sauce built on molasses and raisins, thickened at the end with cornstarch. The only step that can go wrong is the starch.
