BOAR'S HEAD

formerly applied only to the head of the wild boar but now to that of any male pig, domestic or otherwise, when served whole. The wild boar, which has a shorter body and longer tusks and snout than the domestic hog and bears a thick hairy coat, is still hunted in Continental Europe, Northern Africa and Asia Minor.
