Spice Cakes

1½ C brown sugar 4 whole eggs 2 T cocoa 12 t allspice 1 C coarsely chopped nuts 1 C flour sifted with one teaspoon baking powder.

Mix in order given-spread thinly on shallow tins. Bake in moderate oven-cover with powdered sugar icing (chocolate) if preferred and cut in squares.
