Macedoine of Vegetables

2 cups mixed cooked vegetables 1 teaspoon beef extract or 1/2 cup stock 1 teaspoon sugar 1/2 cup water Salt and pepper 2 tablespoons butter Mix all the ingredients together and cook eight or ten minutes over a hot fire, shaking the pan now and then. Serve hot.
