About the Book
The American Soda Fountain Company published this book for the trade: roughly a thousand formulas for soda-water syrups and fancy drinks, together with practical advice on installing and operating a successful fountain.
The soda fountain was then at its height — a fixture of every drugstore, and a social institution. The formulas here are the working stock of that world, from plain lemon syrup to elaborate creations built for the menu board.
Some formulas call for ingredients no longer considered safe to consume; those pages carry a safety warning, and everything is left exactly as printed for the historical record.
This digital edition is built from a dual-engine OCR, reconciled page by page.
