Save the Left-Over Ice-Cream
Very often when we have ice-cream a little is left over. The work of repacking before it melts is considerable. I have hit upon the plan of putting the left-over ice-cream before it melts into a small container which has a tight cover, such as a fruit-jar, and, after drawing the water out of the freezer, submerging this small container in the remaining ice. A little salt should be added. The ice-cream will usually keep frozen until the next meal and may be used à la mode as a part of the dessert.-M. W., Brawley, Calif.
