Custard, Boiled
One pint of milk; three eggs (yolks); onehalf teaspoon of salt; two tablespoons of sugar. Beat the yolks well, and add to them one-half cup of the milk; place the rest of the milk in a double boiler on the fire, and when scalding hot, pour over the yolks and cook until it thickens. Remove quickly, and add the salt and sugar.
