Southern Loaf Cake

Three cups of light dough; three cups sugar; one cup butter; and three eggs beaten separately. Add the beaten yolks to the butter and sugar when well creamed, and pour in one-third cup of sweet milk with one-half teaspoon of soda dissolved in it. Add a little more flour, then stir in one cup of seeded raisins well dredged with flour and bake in a steady, hot oven.
