General Directions Efficacious in Most Cases
Stretch the spotted portion tightly over a bowl, and pour rapidly boiling water through, from a kettle held a foot and a half above it. This treatment removes fruit, tea, coffee and punch stains, etc. Stains are easily removed from napery that has been starched with Linit. For Chocolate Stains-Follow directions, but first moisten with cold water and cover with borax.
For Blood and Fat Stains-Use Soap and cold water.
For Ink and Iron-Rust-Use oxalic acid diluted with an equal amount of cold water. Put on with a medicine dropper, if spots are small. Rinse, repeat if necessary, rinse again and wash as directed.
When Bleaching Is Needed-Dampen and dry in the sun (on the grass, if possible), repeating till white. If this is not efficacious, use Javelle water according to directions on the bottle.
