Cottage Pudding

One pint flour, two teaspoonfuls cream tarter, one teaspoon soda, one tablespoonful butter, one half cup sugar, one cupful milk, one egg; butter a pan, pour it in and bake half an hour. Serve with wine or brandy sauce.
