Pudding Sauce (One cupful sugar butter size)

One cupful sugar, butter size of an egg, a little salt. Put beaten eggs, sugar and butter in a bowl, and make nearly one pint of starch, with two tablespoonfuls of corn starch; stir this while hot in the sugar butter and egg, then add one wine glass of wine or half a wine glass of brandy.
