Fruit Pudding

Pare and pit fruit; place sultana raisin in centre. 1 tablespoonful cake batter in buttered cups; drop 1 peach in centre; cover with batter; steam one hour. Unmould when cool; cover with orange marmalade; roll in chopped nuts and cocoanut. Garnish with stuffed pears.

For the Modern Kitchen

A steamed individual pudding built around a whole poached-soft peach, finished as a coated ball rather than served from the mould. The instructions assume a cake batter you already have in hand and a steamer set up on the stove.
