Golden Sauce

Make hard sauce as above without egg whites or flavoring. Beat in gradually the yolks of 2 raw eggs, and add flavoring to suit. The color may be accentuated by the addition of a little yellow color-paste.

For the Modern Kitchen Do not make this as written.

This is a variation on hard sauce — creamed butter and sugar, served cold in a mound on hot pudding — enriched with raw egg yolk. Nothing in it is ever cooked, and that is the problem.
