Apple Meringue Pie

Make an apple sauce from tart apples, sufficient for one pie. Flavor with the juice of a lemon and one-fourth teaspoon of Larkin Nutmeg. Put in a dish lined with paste, and bake. Make a meringue of the whites of two eggs and three-fourths cup of sugar. Brown and serve cold.
