Frangipani Cream

2 cups milk 4 eggs 1/2 cup sugar grated rind of 1 lemon 2 tablespoons butter 1/2 cup crushed macaroons Make eggs, milk and sugar into a rich soft custard in a double boiler. Add the lemon rind cooked in the butter. Add the macaroons, and serve cold.
