Cottage Pudding

One-half cupful sugar, one egg, two tablespoonfuls of melted butter, one cupful of milk, two cupfuls flour, one teaspoonful cream tartar, one-half teaspoonful of soda. Bake one-half hour. To be eaten with liquid sauce.
