Sponge Cake (Twelve eggs one pound)

Twelve eggs, one pound of powdered sugar, threefourths of a pound of flour, juice of one lemon. Beat eggs thoroughly, add sugar by degrees, beat half an hour, stir in flour lightly and bake.
