Chocolate Cookies

1/2 cup butter, 1 tablespoon lard, 1 cup sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 2 ounces melted Walter Baker & Co.'s Premium No. 1 Chocolate, 1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon soda, 2 tablespoons milk, 2 1/2 cups flour. Cream the butter, add lard and cream together; then add gradually, while beating constantly, sugar, salt, cinnamon and chocolate. When thoroughly blended, add egg well beaten, soda dissolved in milk, and flour. Chill, toss on a slightly floured board, roll one-eighth inch in thickness, shape with a small round cutter first dipped in flour, arrange on a buttered tin sheet, and bake in a moderate oven.
