Chilli Sauce

24 ripe tomatoes, 8 onions, 12 green peppers, 4 tablespoonfuls salt, 8 tablespoonfuls sugar, 4 tablespoonfuls cinnamon, 4 teaspoonfuls ginger, 8 teacupfuls vinegar; peppers and onions chopped fine; put all together and boil three hours.

For the Modern Kitchen

A large-batch tomato relish of the type nearly every American household book carried around 1900. The quantities are generous and the spicing, by modern taste, is very heavy.
