Washington Pie

1 cup white sugar 1 egg 1 cup sweet cream 1 teaspoon cream of tartar ½ teaspoon soda ½ teaspoon salt Five Roses to make medium stiff batter Nutmeg or lemon Bake in 2 plates. Spread 1 cake with jelly and place the other on top. Serve cold.
