Boiling Water

I gallon Boil together, or pass through a suitable filter coffee pot, until I gallon of infusion is obtained; settle, and add 10 pounds granulated sugar. Simple syrup is the basis of all soda water syrups and the formula for making it is given in this book.

Cohasset Punch.

Use mixing glass, take I ounce of Cohasset, 1/2 ounce of simple syrup, 4 dashes lemon juice, shaved ice and plain water. Mix with spoon and pour into 12-ounce tall glass, decorate with fruit and sprig mint, serve with straws. Col. Roosevelt.

Pare a lemon, cut it in two, add a large tablespoonful of sugar, then thoroughly muddle it; next add an ounce of tom gin, and 2 ounces of sweet cream, shake it thoroughly, strain into a fizz glass, and fill up with soda. Then take a bitters bottle of crême d'yvette, or abricotine, and make the letters C. R. on the top.

Cold Coca.

A Thirst Quencher.
