William Gee's Table of Drops.

The following table will be found of use in flavoring syrups :- I drop of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 2 drams to a gallon. 2 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 4½ drams to a gallon. 3 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 6/½ drams to a gallon. 4 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to I ounce and I dram to a gallon. 5 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 1 ounce and 3 drams to a gallon. 6 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 1 ounce and 5½ drams to a gallon. 7 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 2 ounces to a gallon. 8 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 2 ounces and 2½ drams to a gallon. 9 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 2 ounces and 4½ drams to a gallon. 10 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 2 ounces and 634 drams to a gallon. 12 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 3 ounces and 34 drams to a gallon. 14 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 4 ounces to a gallon. 16 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 4 ounces and 4% drams to a gallon. 18 drops of extract to an ounce of syrup is equal to 5 ounces and I dram to a gallon.

I ounce to a gallon equals 3.75 min. to 1 ounce.

There are 450 drops to an ounce. 60 minims equal to Table of Fluid Measure.

U. S. Standard, or Wine Measure. 8 fluid drams equal to 16 fluid ounces equal to 2 pints equal to 4 quarts equal to I pint of distilled water weighs about I pound. 1 fluid dram I fluid ounce I pint I quart I gallon Table of Density of Simple Syrup.

This table shows the amount of syrup obtained by adding any number of pounds of sugar to one gallon of water. It is based upon the established fact tha one pound of sugar displaces ten American fluid ounces of water, and is accurate only for syrup made by cold process, as, where heat is used, a certain amount of water is lost by evaporation.
