¾ cup brown sugar ½ cup sour milk ½ cup butter ½ cup molasses ¾ cup washed currants 1 teaspoon soda 1 teaspoon mixed spice 2 cups (rounding) Five Roses flour Bake in 2 layers. Date filling and chocolate icing sprinkled with walnuts.
