1 cup brown sugar ½ cup butter 3 eggs 2 tablespoons syrup 2 cups chopped raisins ½ teaspoon cloves ½ teaspoon cinnamon Little nutmeg ½ cup sour milk 2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1 teaspoon soda (scald the soda) 1½ cups Five Roses flour.

Bake in 2 layers.
