A Simple Dessert

1 t soda 1 C boiling water 1/2 C nutmeats, if desired Whipped cream Pour boiling water over dates and soda and while cooling cream butter and sugar. Add egg, flour, dates and nuts last. Bake in sheets or cup cakes. Serve with whipped cream. 14 C white sugar
