Granulated Sugar (Boiling water a sufficient)
Boiling water, a sufficient quantity. 4 ounces 4 ounces I ounce 6 lbs.
Place the tea in a suitable vessel, pour upon it 3 pints of boiling water, cover up tightly, macerate until cool, express and set aside. Repeat the operation twice, using the same tea and quantity of boiling water each time. Then mix the three expressed liquids and evaporate to 4 pints. In this solution dissolve the sugar at boiling point, strain, and when cool add the liquid foam.

Catawba, 2 ounces; white of 1 egg, a little shaved ice; fill with milk and shake thoroughly. Top off with whipped cream and serve with a spoon. Tenderfoot Punch.
Two ounces rum syrup, dash angostura bitters, shaved ice, 1½ glass, spoonful nesselrode pudding. Fill glass with grape juice. Top off with sliced fruits.
Tokay Punch.
Out of 6 pounds of Tokay grapes select 1 pound to be put into the punch last. Now make a boiling syrup of three pounds of sugar and I quart of water and pour this over the remaining 5 pounds of grapes. When partly cold, rub it through a sieve, leaving skin and seeds behind, then add the juice of 2 oranges and 2 lemons, and I quart of St. Julien claret, then strain and freeze. Before serving add 1 pint of good brandy and an Italian meringue paste of 6 egg whites, colored a nice red, and drop in the remaining grapes. Toledo Oyster Cocktail.
Fill bottom of cocktail glass with ketchup, drop in 6 selected oysters and cover with teaspoonful of Worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Top off with a little horse-radish. Serve with oyster fork and wafers. Mix.
Tonic Beer Syrup.
