The Modern Workboard
An additional cream packer for brick cream may be added at the end of the board, if desired. Water basins and drainboards, together with chipped ice and bottle space are practically arranged. A smaller compartment for ice cream spoons and tumbler washer can be provided. The workboard should be equipped with brass towel rail, and can also have lemon slides, slop chutes, and the minor appurtenances necessary. This board is a beauty, built of German Silver. It would naturally be expensive, but very durable, cleanly, and, like all things substantial and good, the most economical in the long run, as there would be but little labor required to keep it clean and in order, and in addition it would be practically indestructible. One of the great advantages of the Innovation Fountain is that it has such a practical workboard with ice cream cabinets and tumbler washers and all practical workboard with ice cream cabinets and tumbler washers and all conveniences built into the apparatus.
As much depends on the way a glass of soda is drawn and served as on the quality of the syrup and carbonated water. With the best of everything at hand the drink may be easily spoiled if not mixed properly. This is a thing very much neglected by owners and managers of soda fountains. At many of the first-class soda fountains in New York and Philadelphia, St. Louis and other cities, it will be found that although the syrups and soda water are in most cases of excellent quality, the drink is spoiled in the drawing and serving.
