Meatless Menus for Reducing—Winter: Introduction

In the introduction of other reducing chapters, as well as in the Sunday notes, many basic truths will be found, so it is well to read all of them.

Some might eat according to these menus and fail to lose. How could this possibly happen?

All foods, even those in reducing menus, are nourishing and all things that nourish will fatten if enough is taken. Those who eat as here directed and at the same time fail to lose are overeating.

Many will follow the menus and add something of their own, such as bread, and wonder why they do not lose. Follow the directions in letter and spirit.

It is always well to do a reasonable amount of exercising while reducing.
